One of the best reasons to attend a film festival is the audience. Any movie, especially a comedy, is better as a shared experience. Energy builds through a crowd as we laugh and cry and gasp in horror or delight. Festival audiences are even better, because they’ve gone out of their way to attend a screening because of passion for a particular film, or because they are cinephiles devoted to movies generally. And, of course, because it’s impossible to catch every screening, it’s great to the have a chance to talk to a fellow festival goer about films they’ve seen and loved.
